Incorporated in the Province of BC in 1990, the Foundation was renamed New Car Dealers Foundation of BC in 2003.

The New Car Dealers Foundation of BC exists to provide CarCareerBC grants and scholarships to young people for automotive industry programs that lead to work at car dealerships and supports other charities throughout BC where local dealers are involved. The Annual Industry Gala at the Vancouver International Auto Show raises funds for the Foundation’s charitable activities. Members and associate members contribute to the Foundation through their participation in certain Association events throughout the year.

Funding contributions have also been provided to Georgian College, Special Olympics BC, University of Victoria, SOS Children’s Village BC, Thompson River, Okanagan College, Canuck Place Children’s Hospice, and BCIT.

The Foundation is a significant contributor to Special Olympics BC (SOBC). SOBC is dedicated to providing opportunities for individuals with intellectual disabilities and their pursuit with sports training and competition.

New Car Dealers Association Members, through the Foundation, are the largest single financial supporter of SOBC and also reward BC’s Olympic athletes with assistance, for example with purchasing or leasing new vehicles, and with discounts on service, parts and repairs.

Endowment Fund Contributors

A major leadership contribution was demonstrated by four individuals and their organisations. The financial donations allowed the New Car Dealers of BC to establish an endowment fund. Interest income from the endowment fund is given out on an annual basis through the Foundation’s CarCareerBC Bursary Program to young people in British Columbia who are following their dreams to enter the automotive segment.
